Full-figured women, sizes 14 or larger, number more than 49 million and represent half of America's women. About one-third of all women wear size 16 or larger. The number of women shopping for plus-size clothing continues to increase. In just over 10 years, the number of women wearing sizes 14 and larger increased from 25 to 50 percent.
Just My Size was initially introduced as a hosiery brand in 1984. In 1989, Just My Size offered its first intimate apparel line and by 1995 had expanded the collection to include activewear. The popular Just My Size jeans were added in 1997. Today, Just My Size continues to listen to the needs of the full-figured woman and offer her new styles. Recent additions to the line include microstretch and satin stretch panties, stretch foam bras, stretch jeans in great new washes, and thigh-high hosiery.
In 1999, Just My Size launched the "I am" advertising campaign celebrating the full-figured woman as confident and comfortable with herself and her size.
